Where's Ellie??

Ellie has turned into quite the climber. She loves to climb in chairs, on stools, on toys, and on tables!!! She scooted one of the little rocking chairs up to the coffee table and climbed right on top. It is one of her new favorite spots!

Build A Bear!

Emmary loves Build A Bear. She asks to go all the time. However, that is only a special occasion place! We are planning on taking her for her birthday and she can hardly wait. So, the girls have a new game they have been playing the last few weeks- Build A Bear! At Build A Bear you get to pick your animal, stuff your animal, fluff your animal, and dress your animal. Emmary's favorite part is the fluffing you get to do in the "bathtub" at Build A Bear. So, I found Emmary and Ellie in the bathtub bathing all the "animals" they had made the other day. They were both having the best time. However, they now have to use a pretend bathtub to bathe their animals.

Wonderpets!!

Emmary and Ellie both like to watch the Noggin channel on television. Lately they have been showing a little 3 minute program about how to make Ming Ming Duck from the Wonderpets cupcakes. Well, Emmary has been begging to make these cupcakes and I have been slack and not gotten the needed supplies. So Emmary took it upon herself to create her own Ming Ming "cupcakes' the other day while I was sweeping. She got one of our old cookie sheets, a bag of shredded cheese, and some blueberries and blackberries. She used the blueberries and blackberries to make Ming Ming's "features." Emmary was so excited and proud of her creation! However, she did not want to eat it.

Go Ellie Go!

Ellie loves to drive the princess "car" around the house. When Emmary rides her trike around the house, Ellie is sure to be right behind her. She can go pretty fast too! She is also into dress up right now. Ellie loves to put on crowns, necklaces, aprons, and other people's shoes!! She also loves to try to put on Emmary's clothes. She is learning quickly and can put on (and take off!!!!) bottoms.

Magic!!

Tonight we were all coloring pictures after dinner and it was super special because we were using paint markers. Well, Gordon had finished a fabulous picture of Sleeping Beauty that Ellie obviously really liked. She wouldn't leave it alone. She kept wanting to color it in more and we kept telling her "no" and pointing her back to her own picture of Dee Dee Doodle. Finally, Emmary said, "Daddy, do not worry about it!! If she messes it up I will fix it in the morning with the Magic Eraser!!!" If only the Magic Eraser worked like that!!!

Holla! Holla!!

Today Emmary asked me if I knew the song with "Holla! Holla! Holla!" in it. I had no idea and immediately thought I was going to have to talk to Gordon again about the songs he was teaching her. Well, she persisted and said she was sure I knew it so I asked for her to sing it a few more times with the same result: "Holla! Holla! Holla! Holla!!" Still no idea. I told her I was sorry that we would have to ask Daddy because I really did not know. Then she said, "Yes you do!! It is that Christmas song that we listen too. It says Holla! Holla! Holla!!!!" OHHH!!! I finally figured it out- "Deck the halls with boughs of holly, Fa La La La, La La La!" Except we say "Holla!" at our house!

Hair!!!! (part 2)

Well, it finally happened. Emmary has been wanting her hair cut like one of her baby pictures (when she was bald!!) for a couple of weeks. She thinks she looked so cute in that picture. So, yesterday she took it upon herself to cut her hair to that "baby" length. Fortunately, it was salvageable and it looks pretty cute when we pull it back in clips. However, all scissors have now been hidden.

Hair!!!

Ellie has crazy hair- always has! Well, it has gotten so long lately we usually keep it pulled up and out of her face. She looked so cute after her bath the other night I had to take her picture with it down.

DUCK

Emmary loves art stuff- she is more into tape, glue, and scissors than markers but the last couple of weeks she has been interested in drawing. The other day she brought her Animal Science Notebook (it is just like Diego's- Sissy made it!!) to show me how she had added a new animal. "I drew one of my favorite animals in my Animal Science Notebook. Could you right the name for me?" I looked, expecting to have to ask what kind of animal it was and to my amazement it was pretty good!! So, I wrote Duck. And now Emmary can spell duck-when she wants too!!!

Running Away

Emmary decided she was running away the other day. She had colored on her face (both cheeks w/blue marker) and we had to wash her face. It was too much and made her too mad so she was leaving. As it was bedtime, we explained that she really needed to wait until the morning to leave and she agreed- she doesn't really like the dark. And Gordon added that if she was going to be living by herself she really needed a job. So, she asked, "Mommy, will you please check online to see if there are any jobs for me?" I agreed to let her know what I found in the morning. I was telling Popsy about the running away thing later that night and he recommended that she seek employment with the garbage people. Perfect!!! So, the next morning I told her that the only company that e-mailed me back was the garbage company. They could use her help picking up trash. She immediately decided that she was not running away. I egged her on and said the garbage people were not coming back until Monday so she had a few days to think about it. "NO- e-mail them back and tell them I am not running away so I do not need a job." So I did. And no mention of running away since.

Big Momma

We were playing little girl and mommy today. I was the little girl and Emmary was the mommy. We were playing nicely when Emmary came over to me and said, "Hi little girl- Don't you like your big momma?"

15 months!

Ellie had her 15 month old appointment on Thursday and she is growing!!! She was 31 1/2 inches tall and weighed 22 pounds and 1 ounce. She is so smart and tries her hardest to be just like Emmary! She is talking a little- says "hi" "mine" "mama" "dada" "please" and "Ehh" (Emmary!). But she is a great listener!! We can ask her to do just about anything and she will do it!! She loves to put things in the trash and to get her shoes! Ellie loves to watch Doodlebops and Yo Gabba Gabba. Her favorite toys are baby dolls, cars, microphones, the cash register, and whatever Emmary is playing with! Ellie's favorite foods are yogurt, string cheese, grilled/rottisserie chicken, mac and cheese, and strawberries!! She loves bathtime and playing outside! Her favorite books are her Peekaboo Elmo book, Bunny Kisses, and That's not my Puppy. Ellie does not like lawn mowers, naps, diaper changes, or riding in the car. Ellie loves to blow kisses and give hugs and we love to get them!!

New York Castle

Emmary loves to play with Enviro-Blocks. They are blocks that stick together with water and are tons of fun! The other morning we were playing with Enviro-Blocks when Emmary said, "Ask me what I am building!" So I complied and she said, "I am building New York Castle!" I said wow-it was looking good! She asked me, "Do you know why they never sleep in New York Castle?" I did not know why- "Because there are not any beds!!!" Of course! We do not know how she knew that New York is "the city that never sleeps!"

Slip N Slide

Popsy got Emmary a Backyardigans slip n' slide and she loves it! She was a little nervous about how to jump and slide but Sissy came over and showed her how!! What would we do without Sissy? But she has a great time slipping and sliding and loves for everybody to watch her. We are so glad the weather has been nice for outside play- both of the girls love water!
